Sam had completely and totally forgotten that Fawn ever existed. What a big role she played in his life. Fawn hadn't recuperated as well as Sam did. Sam was perfectly normal, functioning just as well as he had before Fawnpelt had entered his life. Hell he even had another girl, and soon-to-be-girlfriend that he seemed happy with. Fawn on the other hand, well they didn't see her around. When they did she didn't walk all that happily, and she tended to glare at Madison, which Dean couldn't blame her for. She also gave Sam this look, a pained look that caused his heart to twist. The poor girl, her boyfriend just completely forgot about her. Leave it to the winchesters to have something like this happen to them. It wasn't a physical condition of mental disorder, the memories had very certainly been ripped away from him. Sam didn't seem to think that it was worth the trouble to find out who took them, in fact he didn't like the fuss. And that is what would bring them to this scene here.
For once they didn't have a case to deal with so they were just hanging out around the bunker. And when Dean crossed paths with Sam again, he decided to talk to Sam again. "Hey Sam you got a minute?" Dean asked. "Yeah, what's up?" he said, turning to face his brother. Dean had tried to bring up Fawn once before but had decided to drop it once Sam's mood turned sour, this time he wouldn't let up so easily. So here went nothing.
"It's Fawn." Dean started, earning a not-so-happy look from Sam. "Ok I understand that you don't have your memories of her but what happened man? Can't you see what it's done to her? The pained looks she gives you in the hallways? She was your entire world Sam, you were hers, and she isn't handling this "break up" so well. You've hardly said a single word to her since you pointed the gun at her!" Dean said, doing all the hand motions and gestures that was characteristic of Dean. Sam pulled a lowkey bitchface . "Well sorry it's kind of hard to talk to someone who claimed to be your girlfriend of a year when you don't have any memories of her! It's also kind of hard to believe that she lasted a year when every other girlfriend or hookup I've had has been murdered in some way!" Sam shot back. Ever since she had said the personal memories when he had her at gunpoint he didn't like talking about her. Probably the reason why Madison didn't know about what relationship they had had. "Ok sure most of the woman you have had any sort of relationship with has been (pause) brutally murdered and I can't believe I'm saying this but Fawn was different! She was a true hunter Sam, she was strong and could fight off a demon if one were to come for her. Hell you taught her yourself! There isn't a damned creature on this damned chunk of rock that that girl couldn't kill. At the very least don't be a stuck-up bitch and go apologize to the poor girl for how you've treated her!" He insisted. Who knew that Dean would ever be the one in this position, defending Fawn. Normally this sort of thing wouldn't be happening. "Well, Dean, have you ever stopped to consider how I felt I this? Just because I don't act all pouty and whiny over a so-called break up doesn't mean I don't have an opinion in this too! If she's that tough a hunter then she should be able to handle this better than she is. I hardly even see her anyways! It's kind of hard to talk when the person who you don't have memories of isn't even around to talk to! You don't need to be bringing this up Dean, it's my business and not yours. So why don't you just leave me alone and let me make my own decisions about my love life?" Sam retorted. He didn't like Dean doing this and he made it clear. Sam would try to take a step so he could get out of this argument, but Dean sidestepped to block him. "No Sam, you're not getting out of this that easily." he said. Both of the brothers had their form of a bitchface on. "At the very least Fawnpelt deserves an apology. You pointed a gun at her for crying out loud! You two loved each other more than anything, hell if you go back a month or two or three there was hardly a second you two spent away from each other. Then you wake up one morning and something took your memories and you two don't even look at each other properly. Don't you even want to know where those memories went? Who took them? Because if I recall correctly memories don't just vanish like that and there's probably something big at play here. What if it involves lucifer? Something apocalypse-Y? Come on man you know that he's dicking with Alu's head and that's gotta mean something! You know what happened last time he screwed with someone's head like that!" he continued. Dean would of gone on more but Sam beat him too it. "I don't know if you noticed but I'm doing just fine as I am, and I don't want to get involved in any apocalypse crap! If it isn't searching us out then just leave it alone, we've saved the world enough already. And yes I do know what that means, and it's bad for Alula but since she's talked to him there's really nothing she can do to get him out. It's bad I know, but there's only so much we can do here without digging ourselves a bigger mess. And if not messing with the apocalypse means not getting whatever memories those are back then I can't say I'm against it! What do you want me to say Dean? It's kind of hard to care when you can't remember what you're supposed to care about. Now that we've got kids running around we shouldn't mess with the apocalypse. Do you really want Alu to have to deal with the idea that if her dad and her uncle screw up then the entire world is doomed? That she's going to die and any life she would of had is going to be ripped away from her because what, her dad wanted to find some memories? Have you ever thought about the idea that if maybe we keep our heads low, keep under the radar, then someone else will deal with it and everything will fall back into place again? Because I don't know if you've noticed or not but that would be a little stressful to think about." By the end of Sam's little speech thing, Dean was done. His bitchface turned into a flat out "f#ck you" face. He was fine with Sam resisting, in fact he expected it, but when he brought up his parenting that was where he crossed the line. "You know what maybe you're right. Maybe I should just sit back and watch Fawnpelt beat herself up over someone who doesn't even care about her or rebuilding what she had once had with him. And for what? Oh right, the kids. That's a pretty big 'if' you're pulling there Sam. Sorry for ever bringing this up, I wouldn't of had I known you were going to be such an asshole about it." And with that Dean finished it, pushing past Sam and not caring that he bumped into his younger brother's shoulder. Gosh try to do a good thing and that's what you got. Maybe he would try and help Fawn, if Sam wasn't going to. The girl needed someone and Sam obviously wasn't a willing participant. Well that definitely ended on a good note.
