Sam still felt bad for what had happened. For how he had acted. He was still doing things, some big some little, to try and make up for that. Part of it was the promise he had made to fawn, but it was also part him trying to convince himself he wasn't a horrible person, and part him saying sorry. Sometimes he would flat out say or write I'm sorry while doing a thing, sometimes he didn't. However he was still trying.
During this time, he was also trying to research. Research things that could of taken his memory. He had a list of creatures, but no proof or facts to whittle down the list. If he had facts he could cross off some of the creatures and focus his hunt. His best guess would be angels due to the dream world, but for all he knew something different caused the dream world than what took his memories. He had kind of hit a brick wall. So for now he decided to drop it until a lead came up, there was no point in pursuing something in that situation.
So that meant that Sam could focus more on the apologizing thing. By now he had regained what he could call memories, but they weren't his. Fawn had accidentally leaked the memories to him, so he had what happened from her view. It made him feel worse, knowing the promises he made to her, knowing just what kind of a relationship they had had. It made him even more determined to make up for his actions. Dean occasionally teased him about working so hard but Sam didn't care. What he cared about was making it up to Fawnpelt for what he had taken from her.
And that's where this thread came in. Sam had decided to buy a nerf gun, and had left a little note on the counter besides the nerf gun for her. He knew she would see it, it was kind of hard to miss the neon colors of the toy weapon.
Dear Fawnpelt,
I know you like challenges, so here's one. On the counter is a nerf gun, it's already loaded so all you have to do is pull the trigger. It's just a toy so there's no need to worry about hurting anyone. As for your challenge, I bet you can't hit me!
Good luck:
Sam
As for where he was, he was pretty sure he had found a good hiding place. Not too hard but not too easy, suitable for a challenge like this. He decided to squat down behind the wall of the indoor shooting range, however ironic that may be. Maybe she'd get a good laugh out of it, he certainly hoped she had fun.
