There were only two nightmares. Of him. And of her. Tonight, it was her. The same thing, blood on the ground and when she raised her head the flames would break out. They would lick at her skin and she would run, alone for the next few weeks. She woke up with a jolt tonight, eyes wide and breathing shallow. She would lay there for a bit, allowing the adrenaline of the nightmare run off, allowing her eyes to adjust. She would roll over onto her side, staring at the door to her room before swinging her legs out of bed. Softly she would leave her room and make her way to the main area, fleece pajamas and t-shirt, the concrete floor cold on her feet, forcing her to walk on her tip toes. Once she reached the read area she would click on a lamp and pick a book, setting it under the lamp. Cautiously she would look around before opening the book gingerly. She couldn't read, this was true, but she still enjoyed the pictures. A dogfish creature caught her eye and she studied it, fascinated by the black colors and long viper like fangs.

Sam Winchester Sam hadn't heard Alula get up, in fact had been sleeping soundly until he had to use the bathroom. When he had stirred Fawnpelt naturally woke up as well, and he told her that he was going to the bathroom. Simple enough. Well on the way there he came across Alula, looking like she was reading but upon closer look, as really wasn't. It was late, what was she doing up? He'd ask on the way back, if she was still there. Sam have her a brief smile before continuing on his way, and about two minutes later he'd show up again on the way back to his room. Sure enough, Alula was still there. "What are you doing up so late?" he asked her, sitting down in the seat next to her. He made sure the telepathic bond between him and Fawn was wide open so she could see what he was doing if she were to worry about him not returning in a timely manner.

Alula picked up Sam's presence as soon as he stepped out of his room. He went to the bathroom and about two minutes later he would show up again and take a seat next to her, asking her what she was doing up so late. She would shift. "Couldn't sleep." She replied quietly, shifting her gaze from the dog creature to Sam. She would then return her gaze to the book, turning the page again. Another picture that caught her eye; a dog and a person. A witch and it's familiar she realized, what Sam and Fawn were.

Sam Winchester Couldn't sleep? Huh. He could understand that. Sam took a quick peek at the book, quickly reading a couple of sentences. She probably didn't know how to read, or she'd be asking questions about witchcraft or something. Likely, considering the content of the book. "You understand any of that?" he asked, noting that the picture was likely of a witch and familiar, rather than dog and master.

Alula shrugged. "Can't read ir, but I getv ft he picture. It's a witch and a familiar: You and the monster under the bed." She half joked, studying the picture a bit longer before looking at Sam again. "Pictures can sometimes explain more than what words will ever be able to explain." She muttered, brown green optics watching her uncle curiously.

Sam Winchester Normally with that wording he would of defended fawn, but he got that it was only a joke, no offense to her. It seemed as if she couldn't read, maybe he could help with that. "And sometimes the words give details a picture never could." he spoke, pausing a moment before saying "Have you ever wondered what things say? I mean you must of come across written words before." surely at one point she had to be curious, if not before then now as to what the words on the book she had in front of her now. If he couldn't read he would be curious as to what it said.

Alula nodded. "Lots of times. I've come across many written words but never really bothered with them. Sure, I wondered what they've said." She would answered him. She wondered what the words on front of her now said, considering she couldn't read. She sighed quietly, waiting on Sam.

Sam Winchester Oh so she had been curious. Perfect lead in to offering to teach her how to read. If she couldn't sleep it wouldn't hurt to give her something productive to do, fawn wouldn't mind he was pretty sure. "Do you want to learn how to read it?" Sam asked. Hey it'd be good for uncle niece bonding as well, something that would be good for the both of them to get closer.

No, it wouldn't kill her. Infact, it would take her mind off of the nightmare. Or remind her. She tensed at the thought but quickly relaxed. "Sure." She would answer, shrugging. Tired, was all she was.
