Well, there was no arguing with her now. Had she been someone different, Sam would of argues more, but he thought better of it. "Sorry." Sam muttered in a brief apology. He would follow Fawn's lead to where she would take him to rest, even if he wanted to check on the others and see who else had gotten hurt, help those who needed it. But Fawn had other plans, plans that were better for his health. There was no point in arguing with her, and he wouldn't doubt that she would actually drag him and force him to lay down and sit this one out.
She waited a moment before responding, and he couldn't help but be filled with dread when she spoke again. He had had another chance with her, another chance to keep her mother alive and not do a piss poor job in raising her. And he had failed. The burnt lioness he had seen was probably her mother, so here she was again without a mother and a pretty much lost father. And being Dean, he quickly pushed back any emotion so that it didn't show, instead attempting to bring her closer to him protectively. He could still make amends right? He hoped so."Oh god I'm so sorry Alula." Dean said. If they were human he'd probably hug her, but hey he had to make do with what they had.

Fawn led Sam towards the pride and instructed him to lay towards the back. By now, the lioness had calmed down. They didn't need Fawn. But Sam did. She turned to him, lime green eyes watching him before she flopped down beside him, watching the others with interest.
Alula flicked her ears and pinned them. She studied her paws for a moment. "What is there to be sorry for? You couldn't have stopped it." She answered him after a while. Yeah, it stung she was motherless, but she had Dean. He was a good parent. And a king... so that made her his princess. Literally. Yet she couldn't pull herself to feel joy, instead, like father like daughter, she pushed the current sadness and hurt away for now, instead looking at the slowly dying fire. "I wonder who she was." She muttered quietly.

Sam was happy to have Fawn. She wasn't dead or one of the things they hunted- well she was part demon and part angel but she was a lot different from demons or Angels. She cared for him even when he tried to refuse it, she was happy to fight by his side and defend him. They helped each other, made each other happy. And they loved each other. They had been through a lot, and this would be something else to add to the list. He would lay down, and Fawn would lay down besides him. His breathing had improved from the coughing fit he had had, but was still raspy and rough, and he still coughed every so often. Sam hoped there wasn't any long term damage because of this, and his mind couldn't help but think about the burned lioness and if she was ok or not. However Sam would remain resting, letting out a small sigh and shifting a bit closer to Fawn. Things couldn't go too bad when she was here.
It wouldn't matter what Alula thought of him, Dean would still think he was a bad parent. They sat in silence for a while, as if silently grieving for her mother. Then she spoke again, and the thought poked in his mind. What if he could of stopped it? Then Alula would be happy, Sam wouldn't of had a coughing fit, so many more people would be ok. Not hurt. Carrying out their lives like usual. "But what if I could of? What if I could of stopped it?" Dean wondered out loud. What if he hadn't got there in time, and she had died in the fire? Round two of bad parenting, here Dean comes.

But yet, so many things could go wrong with Faawn around. She could go insane and use her signature kill on him. She could rip out his throat and watch him slowly die... just like she had Stoney. She remembered how she had actually enjoyed his death, liked the taste of his blood on her jaws. She shivered, shying away from Sam despite him doing nothing. She shamefully looked away, ears pinned.
Apulia flattened her ears to her skull, annoyed. It was destined for her mother to burn, it seemed. She couldn't have a normal life, her once upon a time. She growled lowly. Not to mention her father was too stuck up in his own little world where he thought he could save everyone. He didn't realize it was affecting her badly, seeing as she knew you couldn't save everybody. She didn't even try. "You couldn't have stopped it, dang it! It was destined; you can't save every little person to come into your view! It's just not meant to be!" She halfway shouted at him with a lashing tail.

But yet, she didnt kill him. Yes she had tried once, but that was in the past and Sam was over that. He knew she loved him, and that she wouldn't intentionally hurt him, not unless she went insane again. And even if he would be patient, he knew what she was likely to do again and how to help her better. And at this point even if she did kill him once he came back he was too in love with her to care. Till death do us part wasn't accurate in their scenario. He'd find a reason to excuse it, that things like that just happened sometimes or whatever came to mind. His life was better in so many ways with her around. He noticed that she moved a bit away from him and seemed shameful, and that caught his attention. "Everything alright?" Sammy asked, love and affection mixed with a bit of worry for the female besides him filling his gaze.
Dammit Alula not now! Sure he couldn't of stopped the fire but he could of saved her! Because Dean would be Dean and he would always think he could of saved that one person. "Do you think I don't know that? Do you have any idea how many people have died because I messed up? Because I screwed everyone over? At the very I could of saved her, saved her so that you could of had a mother and another person raising you instead of you having to deal with my crap all the time." Dean said, his voice almost cracking. Maybe it was destiny for her not to have a mother, but no sort of destiny would stop him from trying. She deserved more than what he had to offer, a normal life with normal parents and normal friends at a normal school with normal teachers. He just wanted her to be happy and to thrive, not have to be weighed down by his piss poor excuse for a father.

Fawn shook her head, turning her attention to the yelling match between Alula and Dean.
Alula snarled, unsheathing her claws and digging them in the rock. "You're so stuck up! You're too busy in your emotions, worrying about what you think I want besides asking me! Maybe I want to play board game, or go fishing, or HUNT! But nooo! You're too busy up in your own little HELL!" She shouted at him, lashing her tail angrily now. Maybe she wanted to hang around him. Maybe she didn't want a mother. Maybe she just wanted to be herself. She wished she could go back to normal. She wished she could be on the streets again. She wished he never found her. She wished... "I WISH YOU WERE NEVER MY FATHER!" She screamed at him before turning tail and running off. She made a sharp turn and skidded onto her hip before regaining balance and running down the side. She disappeared into the grasses, vision blurred by her tears as she ran. She heard a roar and she assumed it was Dean. And continued to run.

Her first words triggered the defensive mode in him, but she kept going and going and the words got more and more hurtful. They didn't have any board games, he was honestly surprised she knew what they were. And no way would he let her hunt, not yet. She was 14, not ready and not informed enough to make the decision of what to do with her life. Once you got into the hunting life, you never got out. Dean took a moment to process her words, and opened his mouth to reply but then she yelled and ran off. That, that honestly hurt. He tried his best to do what he could, tried to be better than John had to him. and right now the possibility that this was just teenage years stuff hadn't even come to mind. "Alula come back!" Dean roared, springing back to four paws to start chasing after her. However he only got a few strides before he faltered, the emotion he was holding behind iron bars getting the best of him. No this wasn't right, she wasn't supposed to run away like that. What if something happened to her? What if the fire came back and roasted her alive? She could get trampled by zebra or wildebeest, or fall into the gorge and break her neck. But she wouldn't appreciate the effort would she? She'd just run away again, and it's not like he could lock her up anywheres. Or would for that matter. Dean stared at his paws, muttering to himself something about his bad parenting, trying to get his emotions back under control. His first day as King, and he had already screwed up.

And so she ran. Nobody was stopping her, nothing was holding her back, she was free. She was running and running and no way was she going to stop unless something made her. Her tears blurred her vision and she did her best to avoid things. But she failed. She tripped on a stick, falling with a small whine. She rolled then skidded to a stop. She curled up into a ball, covering her muzzle as she finally just cried. There was nobody ariund, she was alone, crying was just fine at this point. The tears streamed down her face, covering the dry African floor in Salty liquid.
Fawnpelt was up in a second, wincing at a cramp in her stomach area, before bounding to the edge. She leaned over, checking to see if she could spot the cub on the grasslands. To no avail.

Dean was fighting back tears, fighting back crying. He was king for crying out loud, he couldn't cry. At least, not in front of others. If they didn't know then it couldn't be any harm, right? He could just slink off and let a bit out, just enough so that it wasn't over spilling. Sam was worried for Alula but knew with the smoke he couldn't go chasing after her, so instead he trudged over to Dean, allowing Fawn to look for Alu. "I'm sure she'll be ok, she just needs a little space." Sam tried to reassure him. This only got Dean more frustrated, more wound up and more stressed out. He gave Sam a solemn look before walking off, trying to find a place where he could be alone. He needed his beer dammit. Sam let out a small sigh made raspy by the smoke inhalation, knowing that Dean also needed some space. So Sam would walk back over to Fawn. "Any luck?" he asked, looking over in the direction she was and squinting to try and spot Alu.

Even with her eye sight, Fawn was picking up nothing. "Nope." She spoke, continuing to gaze out for the cub. "She should be able to findher way back... hopefully." She muttered. She casted her gaze to Dean. "He gonna be alright?" She asked Sam, turning her gaze to continue to try to find even a hint of cub. She lashed her tail, finding nothing still.

Her words only caused for worry to root itself in Sam. That wasn't good, it also met the Alula was a hella fast runner. Sam gave a small nod when she asked about Dean. "He's hurt, but he'll be fine." Alula's words earlier worried him too. Was she really that upset with Dean? Was she upset with him too? He shuffled his paws, knowing that there was a lot out there that could get to her. "Maybe we should go search for her." he suggested. If Fawn couldn't see her she must of run far, but surely she couldn't of gotten too too far?

"We as in me. You're staying here, Sam. No ifs ands or buts about it." Fawn decided before turning around to take the same path Alula took. She had never ventured out her before... she could easily get lost or attacked. So, she stuck straight ahead. Where an animal had obviously been, and she assumed it was Alula. She followed the trail of flattened grass, prowling on as she trotted after the trail. Dang. She had gotten farther than expected. Speaking of Alula, there she was. Crumpled on the ground, crying. Fawn silently approached, looking at the little ball. She glanced around before touching her tail to her, causing the whimpers to cease. "Go away." Alula muttered. "Alula, baby, Dean never meant to hurt you." Fawn answered. "I don't care!" "Come on, don't be that way. He's only trying to help you... he doesn't know. He's never dealt with kids until we showed up, let alone raised them." Fawn continued to purr. "Look, you can come back and you two can make up, right?" Fawn was unaware that Alula was stuffing her emotions back down again. The cub stiffly and silently nodded, rising and starting to pad back to the rock with Fawn on her heels.

Of course she would tell him to stay. But he didn't want to. Sam understood why she wanted him to stay, but he was more concerned for his relative than for himself. "What if something happens? What if the fire starts again and-" he started to protest, but Fawn didn't want to hear any of it it seemed. She waved him off with her tail, he realized, walking in the path that Alula had taken. Sam let out another sigh and would watch her fading form for as long as he could, until it vanished over the horizon in her search for alu. Then he would go back to where he had been resting previously, waiting for his spouse to come back, hopefully safely and with Alula. He rested his head on his paws, his mind wandering to all that could go wrong as he worried for her.
Meanwhile Dean had found an alone place as well. What Alula said had really stabbed him in the heart, he was probably taking it a bit too personally. Am I really that bad? He thought, was he really messing up that much? Dean didn't have much experience with children, never mind what to do in situations like these. The tears came- he couldn't hold them back. They formed at the corners of his eyes and too soon they fell towards the ground, propelled by gravity and his sadness. They turned the dusty cave floor wet, creating small pools that marked his emotions. Was he really that bad a father? Was he really too stuck up to see what Alula wanted? She wished he was never her father, Sam had said the same thing about John more than once. Was he as bad, or worse, than John? Dean buried his face in his paws. Where had he gone wrong? So many questions, not enough answers.

With a little help from a timeskip, Alula and Fawn had returned, no damage done. Fawn would nudge the cub forward before stalking over to Sam, avoiding the questioning looks of the other lioness, who had obviously calmed after the fire. Fawn lowered her head slightly as she approached the massive second in command, bumping her head gently against his before sitting beside him. She spread her front legs a bit, allowing her to hunch over as so she could talk to him in private. "She's just like her father." She grunted to him, looking at the future queen. The little thing looked lost, yet Fawn knew what she was doing.
Alula was searching for her father. He deserved an apology. She had been out of hand but, it wasn't horomones. It didn't affect lions here, Timur. Stop blaming everything on the dang horomones. Take into thought about all Alula has been through okay? Anyways, Alula had acted out because she was hurt. Her mother had just died by fire again. She had her reasons. Twitching her tail and haunches, Alula scanned the area but found no site of her father. She even looked in the little cave and didn't find him. Seeing a path that led to the top of Pride Rock, she was tempted to find him up there. But, no. Instead, she separated herself from the other lions.

And in the time of the time skip Dean had managed to calm down for the most part, but he still lurked in his little private area. Sure he was king but hopefully they were smart enough to last on their own for a little while. Thoughts would pass through his head, none of them positive and most of them self hating, and he just hoped that Alu was safe and ok, not knowing that she had returned safely. He wasn't ready to come out of the cave like thing just yet, so he would remain there for a while.
Sam was happy to see the sight of Fawn again, even if they were lions here. Sam was also happy that she had returned with Alu safe and sound. She bumped her head to his and he wasn't quite sure why but just went with it, pulling himself up into a sitting position rather than laying down. He felt a lot better he had to admit, but it would be a bit until he made a full recovery. His throat still felt a bit scratchy from the fire and would probably show in his voice but he didn't really care. "Well I'm glad you found her and that she didn't end up at the elephant graveyard." he said, shifting to sit a little closer to her. He had watched lion king before and knew about it, and knew that the elephant graveyard was not a happy place. Definitely not good for a young cub like Alu. "Thank you." Sam added, his gaze trained in his spouse happily. She was amazing. He probably wouldn't of been able to get Alu back fire or no fire. He felt lucky to have her, and it would probably show in his smile directed at her.
