Yes, it was a wonderful day indeed. Already, the little Alpha was awake. Today was the day she'd be going to Alpha school; she turned two years old in the spring! Sure, she was a year old now, but that was how old you had to be to get into Alpha School. Last she checked at least. Bounding up and racing to the exit, Alula wad one of the first to wake. The cave she was in was restricted for the Alpha Leader and his family; others slept outside in hokes under rocks or something. They didn't seem to care. Alu didn't either. This was her last day of play, the last day she could be a pup. "Mom! Dad! I'm going out!" She barked over her shoulder, not caring they probably weren't awake. Placing her paws beneath her, she made a sharp turn, sliding before scamming down from the small cave, the rock ramp bumpy as usual. There was no actual main camp; it was simply a worn down field between two hills. A dry river ran through it until it reached pretty close to the end of the clearing, it once have been a pool. There was a log that went across it, in which Alula scrambled across it with perfect balance. Omegas couldn't do that, she bet! She probably woke others up, she realized. All well!
She had in fact woken some up. Already NPC Alpha pups were racing past her dug out den under the rocks. Only five, not counting Alula. That was a pretty big class... Dean had his work cut out for him. The seasoned Alpha lifted her head from her paws, peering out. Sure, she and her family kinda laid on each other, or, as it was this morning, pressed against each other. Sam had one side while Fawn had the other. Between then were their pups, Dean jr. and Birch. Both Omegas. She had to wonder how she and Sam, both strong Alphas, produced two omegas. One Omega and one Alpha or one Alpha and one Alpha were common throws. But this litter? It was a new combination. Not that she could complain; they kept the peace. They needed that, considering their pack could be pretty aggressive. Fawn watched as the dark grey furred Alula lead her Alpha pup pack towards the forest for a final day of play. Fawn had woken to som Omegas heading out earlier this morning. She was sure the pups would run into them.

Her last day of play. The last day his little girl stayed as her little girl. After today she would be at Alpha School, training, learning, growing up. Dean wasn't quite sure he was ready for her to not be a pup anymore, but time wouldn't wait for him would it? Dean woke up to his daughters call and the sound of her pawsteps scrambling over the rocks. He knew she would stay in the areas she was allowed to, she wouldn't go to the areas she wasn't. She'd stay safe, so he wouldn't worry. Too much. The male let out a soft sigh, turning his head to Bailey. She was already awake he realized. "Rise and shine Dean." she said, a smile placed on her features. He returned the smile and would reply with a simple "Good morning Bailey." and would make his way so that he was gently pressed by her side, still in the process of fully waking up.
Sam still did sometimes wonder how their pups had turned out to be omegas, how not even one of them had inherited his size or one of their alpha traits. But he was happy with them nonetheless, he still loved them. They were a family and nothing would change that. Sam himself would be woken up as Dean Jr accidentally kicked him in his sleep, letting out a "oof" as he did so. Ok now he was up. He spotted Fawn peering out into the world that was still waking. "Sleep well?" he asked, his voice hushed as to hopefully not wake the pups.
Benedict had been one of the ones who had went out earlier, but he had broken away from the other omegas. He didn't quite fit in with them, they were a bit to foolish and immature for him. Plus if he hung back there was a chance he would bump into Alula. Sure she was an Alpha, the leader's daughter no less, but that didn't seem to stop his heart from developing feelings for her. He was just an omega, he probably had no chance with her but he had his hopes. So he would hang out by an area he had noticed Alu liked to hang around with her Alpha buddies and waited for her. Maybe they could play together or something.

It wasn't long before the pups were tumbling into the clearing. Alula and another were rolling around, trying to pin one another. Didn't take long before Alula say atop her rival, victory once against sweet in her mouth. "I win!" She barked gloriously, trotting off. Another dared leap at her, in which she quickly dodged and dashed away, now having the five others chase her. Out of the corner of her eye she spotted Benedict and sat, skidding to a stop. The others piled up behind her, forcing her to brace herself. "Benedict?" She asked a as the others quickly bounded off to play amongst each other. "Hiya!" She greeted, bouncing playfully over to him. She wagged her tail, bowing down in a playful Alpha manner.
Fawn swiveled an ear over to her mate before looking at him. She nodded. "You?" She whispered back before turning her green gaze back outaide. Her legs were locked and she needed to stretch, but she would wait for one of the pups to wake up first. She didn't want to the wake them up just so she could stretch. She was a kind mother like that. A few Alphas were already heading out the hunt.

A strong one she was. Able to overpower her friends actually, she could probably overpower him too. He couldn't help but smile at her. Her dark gray fur was quite pretty, and he loved the way it waved as it ran. Then she spotted him and abruptly sat down, greeting him. The male would pad over to her for the remaining space before she fully came to him, his tail gently wagging. Oh she wanted to play? It seemed so. "Hi!" he said cheerfully. "Wanna play?" he asked, a smile drawn on his lips.
That was good. Sam returned the nod, happy that she had slept well. He also noticed that some were going out to hunt, maybe they should go help out. But their pups were still asleep, maybe they could catch up when they were awake and everything. They had had a bit of a late night last night as they all played around, probably the cause of why they were still asleep. For now at least. Dean Jr seemed to be stirring a bit, maybe he would wake soon.

Oh boy oh! Benedict had it coming. "You bet!" Forgetting he was an omega, she leapt at him,, aiming to tackle him. She didn't even wait to see the results before taking off across the opening, clearing the area in a few mere seconds. She skidded to a stop, looking at Benny before crouching. Then, she charged, hoping he e I us get the point of chase. The other pups were too focused on each other to notice the Alpha speeding past them. "Hah! You caribou can't escape the greatest Alpha ever!" It was a game of caribou, probably one the omegas didn't know. She was still probably intimidating.
Being a mother, Fawn wasn't permitted to a hunt. Sam could, Fawn had to stay behind and keep watch on her pups. As the sun started to climb higher, other wolves started to wake. Pups under a year old were tumbling around the area, causing a slight chuckle to escape her. Her pups wouldn't have to leave her for a winter. They weren't Alphas. She was almost grateful for that.

Benny hadn't been expecting the tackle, and it left him on the ground with the breath knocked out of him. Lupus dang she was strong. In the few seconds she took to cross the clearing he managed to stumble to his feet. Did alphas usually play this hard? Benedict was still catching his breath when she ran again. Was this normal for her? He was determined not to seem weak and would try to play along, even if he was unfamiliar with the game. He was supposed to run right? He thought so, so he did, letting out a happy yip even though it was all to likely she would catch up again. Hey at least it was fun!

Ah, okay. He got it! Alula was quick to run after him, leaving the other pups behind as she veered a little off of him, attempting to flank him instead. She was too busy watching him to pay attention to what was ahead of her. She looked and panicked a little. Gosh darn logs! They were everywhere here! She put on a little more speed before jumping it. Whoop! She made it! Oh hey she was ahead of Benedict. Digging her claws into the ground, she slid into a turn in front of him, blocking his path. She didn't even consider the fact he might not be able to stop, but meh. She didn't care. This was her definition of fun.

Benny wasn't paying much attention to where she was, only knowing that she was close. He could hear her pawsteps but other than that he was focusing on running as fast as he could. He spotted the log and knew he couldn't jump over it, he had tried before, so tried to stop. But he was unsuccessful and ended up skidding face-first into the log, followed with a thud as he did and stirring up dust and leaves in his path. Maybe if it was positioned differently he would be able to go around it like the other logs or maybe even under it. The male scooted back a little, raising a paw to rub his sore nose. "Ow..." he said, and then shook his head to try and make it go away so they could continue playing. He didn't want to seem weak in front of Alu!

The log shuddered and Alula picked up the sounds of an ow. She flinched before chuckling and trotting over. With that, she scrambled up onto the top of the log, peering down at him. "Couldn't make it?" She chuckled. She leaned too far forward and toppled down, rolling as soon as she hit the ground. She jumped back up, playing it as if she was fine. "Meant to do that." She added, offering a cheeky smile. "Hey, why aren't you with the other omegas?" She spoke again, tilting her head. Why wasn't he with the others?

She had good reflexes, a lot better than his. Was it one of those things that came with being an Alpha? All the alphas were strong and fast and smart and everything, and the omegas were just... Omegas. He wasn't sure he liked it. He wanted to be an Alpha actually, they seemed to have better games and better skills. He couldn't help but let out a chuckle when she fell over, though she seemed perfectly fine. He wouldn't of been fine if he fell over like that. Then she asked a question. A good one at that, one he wasn't sure how to answer. Why didn't he hang out with the omegas? He didn't know how to put it in words. "Uh..." Benny said, trailing off. He hadn't ever been good with things like changing the subject, as was proven now. Couldn't they just go back to playing? Playing was always fun.

Alula waited for a while before shaking her head. "Silly omega. You've got a purpose and that's keeping the peace. Hanging out with the others will help you do just that." She barked, shaking her fur before starting to head back to the clearing. She glanced at the sun. "Oh crap! We leave for Alpha School in a few minutes!" She barked, already seeing the other pups head back to the 'camp' where her father would be waiting. "See ya next spring, Benedict!" She called over her shoulder as she bounded along the paths to catch up with the others.

"silly omega" he couldn't say those words didn't sting. He wanted to be more than an omega, more than just the comic relief. Sure keeping the peace was important and all but he felt rather insignificant in the big picture. The male looked down at his paws as if they were the most interesting thing in the world, only getting up when he noticed that Alu was walking towards the clearing. So he would follow her, jogging a bit to catch up. Then she spewed out something about Alpha School and his heart fell. A whole winter? How would he last that long with the omegas? Without Alula? Next spring she'd be a new wolf, they'd both be new wolves. They'd both of changed. He'd learn how to be an omega, she'd learn how to be an alpha. She'd get stronger, braver, faster. He wouldn't. He wasn't sure he liked that idea. Maybe he's finally be able to jump over a log but she'd of grown so much. He was almost scared of how much they each would change. He wanted them to stay pretty much the same, he didn't want her to leave. See him next spring? Spring suddenly seemed so long away, a whole winter away. Though there was nothing he could do about it as she sprinted away, everyone always said change was inevitable. His shoulders drooped but he kept his chin up to watch her run out of sight, which seemed all to soon. Suddenly he didn't want to play, didn't want to learn how to log sled as his omega "friends" had planned for him. The winter seemed so long, so far away until it ended and he could see her again. But he'd just have to make do wouldn't he? He'd just have to.
By now Dean Jr and Birch had woken up and gone off playing, Fawn would have a chance to stretch her legs and Sam had bid her goodbye before catching up with the other Alphas for hunting. He had been able to, luckily. Blazeheart would be laying in the sun. She wondered if maybe there was something more she could do, she had enjoyed hunting with the others before she had her vision taken away from her. At least she had Benedict now, and Lark. Lark was an adult now whereas Benny was still a child, but both would always be children in her heart. Funny how they were both omegas.
Dean would be waiting for the pups for alpha school on the place he always was. His little girl was going to grow up now. A part of him wanted to find a way to keep her as his little girl, have her stay a child and a playful pup. He didn't exactly want her to lead, it was a father thing. But a bigger part of him told him that he had to let her grow up, become an adult and a strong alpha. The next leader of the pack. He let out a small sigh, a smile coming across his face as he spotted the pups running to the place where they would leave for alpha school. His little Alula would grow up, along with all the other pups. At least she had friends by her side.

And it didn't take long for the older pups to reach Dean, Alula tying for first with another brown male. "Tie! We'll settle it later." He spoke. Alula rolled her eyes. "If we even get a later." She muttered before looking up to her father. She was ancy, bouncing in place as she awaited him to take off, tail wagging slowly as two of the pups behind her play fought. Sure, two wolves weren't ready for Alula to grow up, but she was. Alula was ready to be a full grown wolf, to hunt, to fight, to do Alpha things. She'd grow out of being childish and be mature, responsible like a proper Alpha. Sure, she'd muss her play times but, she has to grow up some day. She was ready. Her wide, toothy grin said it all.
Fawn was in fact well stretched now and had her teeth on an old bone. She kept one eye on her pups but was watching the leader. She chuckled, lifting her head to study her brother-in-law. "Poor Dean, got his work cut out for him." She muttered before going back to making carvings in her bone, teeth sharpening.

Winter came and went, the birds left but came back, the snow melted and the trees regained their leaves. Winter hadn't been as bad as Benny had thought it was going to be. He had learned to make better friends with the omegas, how to log sled, how to fill in spare time. How to keep the peace. His favorite line was "don't be upsetghetti have some spaghetti" in all honesty. Most of the time it did work. Today, well today was the day that Alpha School ended, and even if he had changed and he knew Alu did he was excited to see the female again. He just had to wonder how much she had changed. He was up bright and early that morning, eagerly awaiting for the Alpha's return and looking for Alula's tell-tale dark gray pelt. Surely she'd be back soon?

Definitely. Excep, as the fully grown Alphas followed after Dean, they weren't talking our out of order. Alula flanked her father, the others falling in a straight line behind them. She'd grown to be quite the fit female. Her muscles were toned, rippling beneath her pelt as she silently padded after her father. She was much bigger than she had been a winter ago. Her green eyes trailed to see Benedict, her omega friend. He'd grown quite a bit too and she paused for half a second before continuing on. She had nothing to say at this point of time, bsimply silence. Her trained ears were picking up every sound.
